Full Time Mine General Manager at Kaziwiziwi Mining Company Limited
Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the above post at Kaziwiziwi coal mine in Rumphi District.
Duties and responsibilities
-
- Responsible for planning, organising and supervising the activities of a mine (planning details of production activities in terms of output, quality, quantity, cost, time available and labour requirements)
- In charge of operation of production plant and quality procedures through planning of maintenance, designation of operating hours, and supply of parts and tools
- Oversee the acquisition, installation, maintenance and storage of mining plant and equipment
- Directing staff activities and monitoring their performance
- Controlling the preparation of production records and reports
- Co-ordination of the implementation of occupational health and safety requirements
Qualifications
-
- At least five years work experience in a similar position in the mine industry
- Knowledgeable in the laws, regulations and codes of practice relevant to safety in mining operations
- Result-oriented and organized when leading the team
- Knowledge of vendor management and business process improvement (has to be verifiable from the past working experience)
- City and Guilds Certificates
- Valid drivers license
- Must have certificates in Safety Health and workshop Management
